INTRODUCTION TO ANGLES
The word angle comes from the Latin word “angulus” which means an angle or corner.
WHAT IS AN ANGLE?
An angle is the amount of turn, rotation or bending between two lines that meet at a point.
Angles give the measure of the turn between the two lines in a clockwise or anticlockwise/counter-clockwise direction.
ANGLES FORMED WITH LINES:
Angles are also formed in lines which cross each other ( intersecting lines)
MEASURING ANGLES
Angles are measured in a unit called DEGREES.
The following tool which is called PROTRACTOR is used to accurately measure the DEGREES in an angle (the amount of turn).
